ZED: Bored with my current titles, I've been searching for new comic artists to get excited about, stumbled across this Ironman Extremis story arc. It's awesome and this guy I never heard of Adi Granov digitally paints the covers and every panel inside, nicest stuff I've seen in a while, written by Warren Ellis, I hope they put out a trade.
BRAIN: Hey Zed - Did you know that this was out? I know you've always loved these games. It received an 8.2 at gamespot.ZED: came out today, you know I need this!
BRAIN: Check out the art for the first Marvel Mythos. They are one shots of classic Marvel characters retelling their origan and modernizing it a bit. The art is Paolo Rivera. Zed reported on him in April.ZED: Exchanged an e-mail with him, he's a friend of one of my designers, working on getting us some custom art from this guy, he's good.

BRAIN: Remember this? The Original Series cast all came back together to voice a Star Trek cartoon in the 70's and it's coming to DVD on November 21. I used to catch these on the Sci-Fi Channel when I worked third shift.
BRAIN: Went to see X3 at midnight on opening day with a bunch of friends. I was a little scared with a new director taking over and the crazy stories I had been reading about some bizarre decisions he had been making. The third X-Men movie managed to keep the same feel and emotions as the previous and I have to say I liked it. Time will tell where it lands in the order of favorites from this franchise but as of right now, I still like 2 better. They really didn't pull many punches on this one though, I wonder what the final kill count was. Damn. I give it a B+. Go see it.
BRAIN: OK. My first summer blockbuster was M:i:III. I will declare it was my favorite of the three, but that's kind of like saying you like getting poked in the eye instead of hit in the nuts. This time Tom Cruise strikes a pose accross at least three continents to save his wife. He did a good job, but you never forget you are watching Tom Cruise acting in a movie. Phillip Seymour Hoffman was a really good villain but didn't really have enough screen time. I think he would be a great bad guy in a future Bond movie. There were other movies playing in the theater that I know would have been better, but this movie was just what I need; loud action.
ZED: Samurai Jack season 3 comes out next Tuesday. Brain, I know you haven't gotten into this yet, you should, it's awesome!
ZED: Marvel is putting out a Halo graphic novel with multiple stories in the Halo universe with a variety of artists and styles. Looks like it could be cool.
BRAIN: Pretty cool.

BRAIN: There is an online Mego Museum that is really fun to brows and comes complete with trading cards. To refresh your memory, Mego made the super hero dolls in the 70's that had the cloth outfits...
BRAIN: Here is a record from 1977. These guys jumped on the Star Wars bandwagon and tried to make a serious record. The result is one of the funniest records you will ever hear. Cheese factor 10. They are The Rebel Force Band and the record is Living In These Star Wars. Not sure what backwards "s" is about, but I'm thinking they were maybe going for a "z" as in Star Warz. Thanks to Mike for letting me rip his record.

BRAIN: I'm really happy to see Humberto Ramos back on a Marvel monthly with Wolverine. He has been a favorite of mine for a while with his work on Spider-man. A lot of the over-the-top cartoony looking illustration turns me off after awhile, but not Humberto's. I can't get enough of his. I met him two or three summers ago at Wizardcon in Chicago and had him draw me a quick sketch. I sort of stalked him until I saw he had a free couple of seconds. He drew an ape because I had a Planet of the Apes shirt on and the sketch really sucked. Probably because I was waiting for him to come out of the bathroom when I hit him up...
